Purchasing Associate
Job description
Purchasing Associate We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Purchasing Associate to support our purchasing, inventory control, vendor management, and manufacturing operations. This position plays an important role in ensuring products and materials are purchased accurately, inventory information remains reliable, vendor relationships are maintained professionally, and incoming shipments are coordinated efficiently.
Working closely with the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Associate assists with creating and maintaining purchase orders, verifying pricing and quantities, communicating with vendors, researching products and suppliers, coordinating freight and deliveries, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. Daily responsibilities include monitoring outstanding purchase orders, following up on order confirmations and backorders, requesting updated pricing and product documentation, researching alternative suppliers, and assisting with inventory counts and discrepancy investigations.
The position also supports receiving operations, manufacturing work orders, and coordination between Purchasing, Inventory Control, Warehouse, and Manufacturing. The successful candidate must possess strong organizational skills, mathematical aptitude, and exceptional attention to detail . This includes the ability to accurately work with quantities, pricing, measurements, inventory records, and purchasing information while recognizing discrepancies and resolving problems through logical thinking and careful investigation.
This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word , along with the ability to learn and effectively utilize complex ERP and inventory management systems. Candidates must be comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining detailed records, communicating professionally with vendors by email and telephone, and following through on assignments without constant supervision.
Experience in purchasing, inventory control, vendor coordination, logistics, or administrative operations is beneficial. However, we also welcome candidates who demonstrate strong analytical abilities, technical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and the motivation to develop a career in purchasing and supply chain operations.
The Aligned Candidate The aligned candidate enjoys organizing information, solving problems, working with numbers, and ensuring important details are handled correctly. You naturally recognize when something needs attention and take the initiative to investigate, communicate, and follow through rather than waiting for someone else to address it.
You understand that purchasing involves much more than placing orders. Every purchasing decision affects inventory availability, manufacturing schedules, shipping operations, financial accuracy, and ultimately the customer experience. You are dependable, resourceful, and accountable. You take pride in maintaining accurate information, communicating professionally, meeting commitments, and developing positive working relationships with vendors and coworkers.
You are comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments. You enjoy learning new systems, researching products, comparing information, and finding opportunities to improve processes and prevent recurring problems. Most importantly, you understand that accuracy, communication, and follow-through are essential to successful purchasing operations .
You recognize that even small oversights can create significant challenges for other departments, and you take ownership of ensuring your responsibilities are completed correctly and on time. Career Development & Growth This position offers an opportunity to develop a strong foundation in purchasing, inventory control, vendor management, product sourcing, logistics, and manufacturing support.
We are looking for an individual who is interested in developing their skills, expanding their responsibilities, and building a long-term career in purchasing and operations. Candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance, reliability, technical proficiency, leadership potential, and a strong sense of ownership may be considered for advancement into a Purchasing Supervisor position.
We believe professional growth is earned through demonstrated performance, initiative, and capability. Why Join Our Team? We believe exceptional companies are built by exceptional people who take ownership, embrace continuous improvement, and care about the quality of their work. Our company is guided by three enduring principles: Legacy, Innovation, and Lasting Impact .

We are looking for someone who wants to do more than process purchase orders. We want someone who takes pride in helping build a purchasing operation that is accurate, organized, proactive, and reliable.
