Intermediate Computer Operator

JOB OPENING #: 9845 POSITION TITLE: Computer Operator DEPARTMENT: Global Technical Organization

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: Technical school or associate degree or equivalent experience (1-2 years of data processing environment) required. Bachelor’s degree or related experience preferred One year experience in computer operations preferred Working knowledge of the production layered applications required Working knowledge of all the computer systems, both hardware and software required MAJOR DUTIES: Work in the operations team who provide 24X7X365 onsite support of the data centers, remote offices and technical infrastructure.

Perform passwords changes Participate in data center failover exercises Participate in patch weekends Coordinate and participate in equipment installations and decommissioning (racking equipment/power/fiber/network) Perform cable installations and removals in accordance with cable management best practice and change policy.

Monitor, measure, record and trend all data center environmental factors (Temperature, power, cabinet slots, etc.) Ensure that all hardware and software problems/issues are logged (tickets) and the appropriate people are notified (On call support), and process is followed. Provide off hours (Service Desk) support. Provide off hours (UK London Office) support.

HOURS/LOCATION: Tuesday to Saturday 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. (over time as required) Primary Location: Southpointe location – Canonsburg, PA 15317 Secondary Location: Federated Hermes Tower – Pittsburgh, PA 15222 EXPLANATORY COMMENTS: Demonstrate a cooperative attitude with clients, coworkers and vendors. Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
