HGV Class 1 Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Sittingbourne. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team. Shifts: Monday to Friday Hours: 09:30am start Pay Rate: £18.35 per hour PAYE with overtime of £27.53 after 40 hours.

Location: ME10 2FD Job Type: Ongoing The role: Collections. Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers locations. Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections. Operating devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards. Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road. Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements

Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E). Have at least 12 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle. Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card. No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only). Full understanding of WTD legislation. Excellent communication skills. A safety-first mindset.
