Long Term Substitute Teacher – Middle School Science, St. Joseph Vancouver

St. Joseph Catholic School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Middle School Science Teacher to join our middle school team for approximately four to six weeks beginning at the end of October. The long-term substitute will provide science instruction to middle school students while maintaining continuity of learning, established classroom routines, and a positive and supportive classroom environment.

The substitute will work closely with our middle school team and school administration throughout the assignment. Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver middle school science instruction using established curriculum, lesson plans, and learning objectives
• Prepare for and facilitate engaging, age appropriate science lessons and learning activities
• Maintain established classroom expectations, routines, and procedures
• Assess student learning and provide appropriate feedback
• Communicate with students, families, colleagues, and administration as needed
• Collaborate with the middle school teaching team to support student learning and schoolwide expectations
• Supervise students and fulfill other typical teacher responsibilities during the school day
• Support the Catholic mission, values, and community of St. Joseph Catholic School Qualifications
• Valid teaching certificate required
• Experience teaching middle school students preferred
• Science teaching experience or background strongly preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• Commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment
• Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education Compensation and Benefits Compensation: Starting at $180 per day starting. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
