Required Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of industrial controls, electrical panels, machine wiring, PLCs, motor controls, sensors, safety circuits, and electromechanical equipment.
Ability to read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, mechanical drawings, bills of material, and equipment manuals. Hands-on ability to build, wire, modify, install, test, and troubleshoot control panels and machine electrical systems. Strong, methodical troubleshooting skills using electrical test equipment, programming tools, computers, hand tools, and power tools.
Familiarity with industrial automation technologies such as PLCs, operator interfaces, networks, robotics, and machine vision systems. Ability to work independently at customer sites and communicate clearly with engineers, technicians, vendors, contractors, and customer personnel. Strong attention to detail in wiring, labeling, testing, documentation, and verification of control systems.
Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company and customer safety, training, security, and site-access requirements. Must provide and maintain a basic set of personal hand tools suitable for electrical wiring, installation, and troubleshooting work.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certificate, associate degree, apprenticeship, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial electricity, automation, controls, mechatronics, electromechanical technology, electrical engineering technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
Three or more years of hands-on experience building, wiring, installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting industrial machines, automated equipment, control panels, or electromechanical systems. Experience reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting industrial control circuits. Experience with programmable logic controllers, machine wiring, sensors, motor controls, variable-frequency drives, control panels, and industrial automation components.
Equivalent combinations of technical education, machine-building experience, field-service experience, demonstrated electrical aptitude, and industrial controls knowledge may be considered.
