- Job Description Northern Ohio Recovery Association (NORA) Overview: NORA is a non-profit in Northeast Ohio dedicated to empowering individuals, families and communities to support lifestyles of recovery. Position Summary
The Finance Director is instrumental in strategizing, managing, and leading processes and workflows across the organization. Works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team to successfully operate and deliver services and attain high-quality outcomes consistent with organizational standards.
Efforts of this role are focused on ensuring efficient operations, sustainability, regulatory compliance, standards of credentialing, and administrative management. The Finance Director will play an integral role in the acquisition, due diligence, on-boarding, credentialing, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Position will serve as a single point of contact for all organizational operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operations Management: Provides operational oversight and management of human resources, marketing, grant administration, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. Identifies, secures, and manages resources to enhance productivity and remove barriers to efficient workflows and patient access to care. Implements strategies to increase revenue/decrease costs and cost-effectively manage personnel, supply, and equipment resources.
Responsible for collecting, evaluating, and presenting operational data and performance analytics to executive leadership. Quality and Service: Ensures contractual, regulatory, and compliance. Initiates, implements, and monitors evidence-based practices to foster continuous quality improvement. Conducts, communicates, and documents regularly recurring meetings regarding operations policy and procedure.
Strategic Leadership: Develops, plans, and implements Northern Ohio Recovery Association’s financial strategies in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)to manage growth and ensure organizational sustainability. Regularly reviews and recommends changes in operations to meet patient needs with particular emphasis on services for under served populations.
Exceeds organizational goals and resolves issues by troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and follow-up. Fosters a culture of patient-centered services with exceptional standards of care. Identifies new opportunities and builds the organization by consistently developing and improving services Experience and Training A minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible work experience managing the accounting functions in a non-profit agency, or equivalent experience Thorough knowledge of budgeting and accounting practices, processes, and procedures of non-profit organizations.
Significant knowledge of standards, regulations, and policies in mental health care, social work, addictions, and related domains. Previous work in a mental health care facility or clinical setting (preferred). Strong knowledge of addictions, mental health, and related supportive needs in the areas of data, analytics, and business management.
Experience collaborating with vendors, institutions, and social services and mental health entities. Genuine interest in NORA’s mission. Knowledge, Skills, Ability Proven decision making and problem-solving skills. Leadership skills with the ability to collaborate, delegate, motivate and inspire others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related discipline required. Master's Degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline preferred Accountability: To Chief Executive Officer Good to Know The pre-employment process will include a criminal background check, reference checks, and drug screening.
