Roadway Engineering Associate

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Roadway Engineering Associate to join our team in Nashville, TN. In this position, you will play a key role in delivering impactful infrastructure solutions that benefit the communities we serve, including engaging work on a variety of roadway design projects. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of smaller projects while also contributing to larger, more complex initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design of a variety of roadway project types including urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks and greenways, interchanges, intersections and roundabouts Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve issues and develop effective solutions Assist in the analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, and permits for projects.

Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to prepare engineering and design documents/drawings Accompany design team on site visits and client meetings as needed. Learn and apply TN Department of Transportation (TDOT) guidelines, policies, and procedures Ensure tasks are completed promptly and meet quality expectations.
