Job description

Nurse – LPN (Residential) Position Summary: The LPN Residential Nurse plays a vital role in providing medical support and supervision for patients in a residential behavioral health and substance use treatment setting. This role includes medication management, patient monitoring, and coordination with the clinical team to ensure comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

Administer medications and monitor for side effects or withdrawal symptoms. Perform routine health assessments and communicate findings to the clinical team. Support patient stabilization and provide nursing interventions as needed. Ensure compliance with state and federal documentation and medication administration guidelines.

Educate patients on medications and health conditions. Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in the EHR system. Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and counselors to support treatment plans. Skills and Competencies: Commitment to Ava Health’s core values of Agency, Service, and Purpose.

Ability to provide compassionate care in a residential setting. Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail. Knowledge of behavioral health disorders and medication management. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Proficiency in EHR documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted LPN license in [State]. Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment. BLS/CPR certification required. Additional Requirements: Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining licensure and certifications. If in recovery, a minimum of 2 years of sobriety is required.
