Maintenance Technician
Job description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the day-to-day maintenance and operation of company facilities. This role performs preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and general upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment. The successful candidate is safety-focused, hands-on, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
This is a full-time, in-person position based at our head office in Saint John, NB. The range for this role is between $48,000-$70,000 annually. Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and building systems. Diagnose and complete repairs related to building infrastructure and equipment. Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance and safety concerns. Support repairs involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work. Install, replace, and maintain facility fixtures and equipment. Assist with facility projects, renovations, and workspace modifications. Coordinate with contractors and vendors as required.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation. Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulations. Post secondary education in a related field 2+ years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field. Valid driver's license is required Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices considered an asset Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks. Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and working in various environmental conditions.
