Summary Objective The Plant Manager will plan, organize, staff, and direct all activities of our Haslet, TX manufacturing facility, a key site for producing state-of-the-art modular chiller plant systems that provide critical cooling for data centers.
Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, this leader will be responsible for achieving plant and sector goals for safety, quality, growth, profitability, productivity, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. The Plant Manager will also lead all production and plant operations to ensure the effective utilization of resources in a dynamic engineer-to-order (ETO) environment.
Essential Functions
Direct and coordinate all plant functions, including Manufacturing Operations, Materials, Production Control, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Planning, Human Resources, Accounting, Manufacturing Engineering, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S). This plant is a green field site in-process of rapidly ramping up volume with employee, revenue, and output.
Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S): Guide and support the plant EH&S program in improvements, investigations, and corrective actions to meet and exceed federal laws, state regulations, and corporate standards. Quality Assurance: Drive the plant's quality system, implementing procedures and controls to improve overall customer satisfaction, DPPM, first-pass yield, and warranty results.
Operational Excellence: Partner with the Operational Excellence team to ensure the effective development and delivery of programs to teach the workforce lean manufacturing concepts such as A3 thinking, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S. Customer Satisfaction: Be proactive and responsive to all facets of customer satisfaction, including on-time delivery, schedule changes, and special instructions.
Facility & Maintenance: Guide and support plant maintenance, process improvements, facility enhancements, and capital expenditures. Financial Management: Direct the submittal of the plant’s Annual Operating Plan and the business’s financial forecasts. Lead plant resources in project budgets, while meeting material and labor productivity targets.
Employee Engagement: Maintain a positive rapport with all levels of the organization to foster and promote an inclusive work environment, high morale, and strong employee engagement. Talent Development: Lead and support the development of plant employees and succession planning activities. Work Location This position will work out of our facilities in Fort Worth, TX. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely. Work Environment Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to SEA Fabrication Shop for observation and research are required. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel Travel is primarily not required with exception to local travel during the business day. Required Education and Experience. Lean Manufacturing: Demonstrated experience with implementing a Lean/Operational Excellence culture in a manufacturing environment is required.
Professional Experience: 10–15 years of progressive Operations/Supply Chain experience in manufacturing operations; with a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing/plant operations leadership role (preferably as a Plant Manager). Strategic Capability: Proficiency in developing and implementing strategic plans and managing a complex P&L.
Technical Skills: Strong technical problem-solving skills, expertise in Supply Chain Management, and advanced leadership abilities. Experience in product manufacturing including welding, pipe fitting, and/or electrical a plus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field is required; MBA or master’s in engineering is preferred. Preferred Education and Experience Labor Experience: Experience working with a high-skill work force is a significant plus. Work Authorization Must be authorized to work in the USA.
