Security Officer

Location: Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute The successful candidate is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include

• Conduct routine patrols of hospital grounds and internal units to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and access control systems, responding to alerts as required.
• Support visitor management and enforce access control procedures in accordance with hospital policies.
• Perform safety checks and maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
• Assist with patient observation and movement, as directed by clinical leadership and within scope of role.
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills and support real-time incident response activities
• Complete accurate and timely incident reports and daily activity logs
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act 2015 (PIPA) and Bermuda Hospitals Board policies.

Qualifications

&/ Registration required:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
• Completion of required behavioural health, crisis intervention, and safety training within an established timeframe, following appointment
• Training in Crisis Prevention, de-escalation, or trauma-informed care would be considered an asset.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a healthcare safety environment preferred
