Our flagship workforce development program, Ready, Willing & Able (RWA), operates across 660 transitional housing beds and combines housing and comprehensive supportive services with paid work training, career preparation, and occupational skills training.
The Doe Fund’s innovative social enterprise model creates additional opportunities for New Yorkers to gain paid, hands-on experience while delivering essential services across the city, including supplemental sanitation, graffiti removal, and rain garden maintenance. We are also one of New York City’s largest nonprofit developers of permanent affordable and supportive housing, with more than 2,100 apartments in operation or development, creating safe, dignified homes with supportive services and spaces that foster community and connection.
The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $88 million and a full-time staff of over 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs. We are seeking a Tenant Services Coordinator for The Doe Fund's newest permanent housing development for employed adults transitioning out of the shelter. The property is located in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx and provides 63 units of permanent housing and onsite social services for individuals referred by HRA and DHS.
The residence is designed to provide care and support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. The Tenant Services Coordinator is responsible for providing supportive case management services and counseling to the residents.
The successful candidate will have clinical skills and experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness. Key Responsibilities
Maintain a caseload and provide supportive services to these individuals including advocacy and referrals to community services as needed Provide counseling and crisis intervention as necessary Assist appropriate residents in accessing and maintaining benefits Maintain communication with the Property Management department and address any maintenance issues Conduct regular unit inspections Monitor and assist residents with rent payments and budgeting Maintain resident records and complete a variety of charting documentation to assure compliance with HRA contract Develop and implement resident-centered support plans for each resident and assist them with achieving their goals geared toward independence Develop and facilitate support groups and recreational activities for the residents Maintain a liaison with community services including hospitals, substance abuse treatment programs, and mental health programs Attend ongoing training to enhance the services provided to the residents Assist with the completion of reports as needed Other duties as assigned The Ideal Candidate: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness Excellent clinical and case management skills including knowledge of benefits in the NYC Metro area Lived experience a plus Sensitivity to community issues and needs Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written Strong ethical standards, confidentiality, and personal integrity Computer proficiency (i.
