Deputy Manager

Camden, London, England, United KingdomFull-timePosted Oct 29, 2026

Job description

START YOUR NEXT CHAPTER AT THE WORLD’S END & UNDERWORLD At The World’s End and The Underworld, a north London landmark and cornerstone of the alternative scene, we are just as passionate about music as about ensuring an incredible guest experience. The venue has played to bands such as Foo Fighters, Motley Crue, The Offspring, Rage Against The Machine, and many more over the years.

It’s a loud and lively venue. Hosting hundreds of events per year, including gigs, club nights and private events, you’ll thrive on being in a supportive and eclectic team. You don’t need to like heavy music to join, but trust us...if you’re not already a fan, it’ll grow on you! The Role: Deputy Manager We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to support the General Manager in running the venue as if it were your own.

You’ll be a hands-on leader of the whole operation, from the cellars to the stage. Being self-driven, curious and goal-oriented is essential for success as well as leading by example. Driving performance in standards, people development and financials all whilst delivering exceptional guest experiences, the ideal candidate will always be looking for ways to improve and never simply accept the status quo.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and inspiring a large team to deliver top-tier but relaxed, informal service.
  • Training, mentoring, and growing your crew like a true hospitality rock star.
  • Supporting the kitchen in a fast-paced food operation
  • Coordinating maintenance and driving high standards in cleanliness and service
  • Driving revenue, managing costs, and keeping those GP’s in check.
  • Owning the floor—from the first hello to the last goodbye.
  • Ensuring the venue remains a safe place for everyone.
  • Taking centre stage during periods when the GM is away from the business
  • The influence of the Deputy Manager should be felt everywhere in the business What you bring to the table:
  • Reliability – always do what you say you’re going to do
  • A cool head under pressure—nothing fazes you.
  • An effective communicator, approachable and organised.
  • Proactive and full of initiative
  • A flair for business and a sharp commercial mind.
  • A genuine love for people, hospitality, and having fun.
  • An appreciation for music and alternative culture
  • Forthrightness paired with diplomacy
  • Solution-oriented
  • Experience as a Deputy Manager (or similar) in a high-volume venue. What’s in it for you? At The World’s End, we don’t just offer jobs—we offer careers, community, and the chance to be part of something truly iconic. Here’s what you can look forward to:
  • A loud, thrash-paced environment firmly rooted in the London alternative music scene.
  • A large team filled with musicians, creatives and artists of varying kinds.
  • Real career progression with some of the best growth opportunities in the industry.
  • Flexible shift patterns to help you balance work and life.
  • A competitive, progressive salary including a fixed TRONC distribution.
  • Stream access—get paid when you need it, not just on payday.
  • Private medical cover after one year of service.
  • Mental health support and access to an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • 28 days paid holiday per year (including bank holidays).
  • 25% discount at all Glendola Leisure venues.
  • Annual staff events that celebrate you and your hard work.
  • Opportunities to innovate and help shape the future of our business. About Glendola Leisure Group We’re Glendola Leisure Group—a proudly family-owned hospitality company with a passion for creating unforgettable experiences.
