Your Role

Working closely with our veterinarians and hospital team, you will: Triage primary care patients, recognizing concerns and communicating appropriate urgency. Provide gentle, compassionate handling during examinations and treatments. Support diagnostics, treatments, vaccinations and preventive care. Place IV catheters, perform blood draws and run in-house laboratory tests.

Support dental procedures, including cleanings, dental radiography, assistance with extractions and postoperative care. Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery. Apply bandages and splints as directed. Maintain accurate medical records and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients. Confidence in IV catheter placement, venipuncture and routine diagnostic techniques. Skills in anesthesia monitoring, dentistry and basic bandage or splint application. A warm, client-focused communication style. Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accurate records. A collaborative approach and comfort working in a busy general practice.

We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our welcoming, collaborative team in Castro Valley.

You’ll put your nursing skills into practice, develop your clinical interests and help deliver thoughtful care to a loyal community of pets and their families. Interested in exotics? Our team shares an enthusiasm for exotic pets—especially reptiles—and we’re seeing growing client demand for their care. Experience is welcome, but it isn’t essential.
