As the central point of communication for the nursing unit, you#ll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure information flows accurately and efficiently, so patients receive exceptional care. As a Unit Clerk, a typical day might include the following: Welcoming patients, families, visitors, and physicians while providing exceptional customer service.

Answering telephones, call bells, and intercoms, directing requests to the appropriate team members. Coordinating patient admissions, transfers, and discharges while maintaining accurate patient information. Entering physician orders and updating patient records using electronic medical record systems. Preparing, organizing, and maintaining reports and unit documentation.

Supporting the daily operations of the nursing station by maintaining supplies and ensuring an organized work environment. Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote efficient workflows and positive patient experiences. Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and computer skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment. Previous experience as a Unit Clerk, Unit Secretary, or in a hospital or medical office setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, electronic medical records, physician order entry, and healthcare documentation is also preferred.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, rotating weekends 7AM-3PM. Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week.# #
