Technical Coordinator
Job description
The Technical Coordinator is responsible for executing projects applicable to management system activities, including task scheduling, inter-department project relationships and interactions, and performing non-department-specific project tasks.
What You Will Do
Overall responsibility for coordination of short- and long-term projects Independently develop and maintain live-documents Client consultation and every-day communication with clients Communication with flag administrations. Dispatching of tasks / distributions of work. Fee quotations to clients. Preparation of Service Agreements Transfer of Class coordination Rapid Response Damage Assessment coordination.
Other duties as may be directed by the Manager of Certification and/or Operations Manager What You Will Need: Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited university, preferably in a business/technical discipline, or equivalent business/quality-related experience. 2 or more years of experience in the industry is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Considerable attention to detail including a high degree of accuracy in data interpretation and input Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and Access (Knowledge in P.C. computer-based project management, spreadsheet, database, and graphical presentation programs and, preferably, word processing.)
Stays actively informed by attending seminars, and training programs, or originates other educational activities associated with programs or activities of direct responsibility; aims to broaden and deepen the level of knowledge and expertise. Ability to respond to confidential and non-routine telephone inquiries in a business-like manner.
Demonstrate ability in decision-making and organizational skills. Demonstrates professionalism, exercises sound judgment and has a sense of diplomacy. Familiarity with commercial, governmental, and international quality standards. Willingness to foster and incorporate change. Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to the Certification Manager.
