About the Role

The Instructor II

  • Sports Instructor / Referee plays a pivotal role in fostering athletic development and sportsmanship within community and educational settings across the United States. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality sports instruction, ensuring fair play, and officiating games with integrity and professionalism. The role demands a deep understanding of sports rules, coaching techniques, and the ability to engage and motivate participants of diverse age groups and skill levels. The Instructor II will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance the overall sports experience for participants while upholding the standards and values of the sporting community. We are currently seeking enthusiastic instructors to lead youth sports programs in Volleyball and T-Ball/Baseball.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in coaching or instructing sports activities. Strong knowledge of the rules and regulations of the sport(s) being taught and officiated. Ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues. Must be at least 16 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with youth athletes in diverse community or school settings. Proven ability to manage conflict and maintain discipline during competitive events.

Responsibilities

Conduct structured sports training sessions tailored to various age groups and skill levels, focusing on skill development, strategy, and physical conditioning. Serve as an official referee during sports competitions, enforcing rules impartially and managing game flow to ensure fairness and safety. Develop and implement lesson plans and training programs that align with organizational goals and promote participant engagement.

Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement and sportsmanship. Collaborate with other instructors, coaches, and administrative staff to organize events, manage schedules, and maintain equipment and facilities. Skills: The required skills enable the Instructor II to deliver clear, engaging instruction and enforce game rules consistently, ensuring a positive and fair sporting environment.

Effective communication skills are essential for motivating participants and collaborating with team members and stakeholders. Strong organizational abilities help manage training schedules, event logistics, and equipment maintenance efficiently. Conflict resolution and decision-making skills are critical when officiating games to handle disputes and maintain order.
