Job description

FAMILY NANNY Silicon Valley, California with travel Compensation: $60– $75 per hour, DOE + comprehensive family/dependent benefits package Schedule: Traditional or rotational (ROTA) schedule, to be confirmed | 40 guaranteed paid hours per week | Some evenings and weekends required Location: Silicon Valley, California, with travel to secondary family residences and other destinations Reports To: Director of Residences Children: Three children, ages 4, 7, and 9 Position Type: Professional Family Nanny | Nanny/Teacher hybrid capabilities a plus THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking an exceptional, experienced, and genuinely caring Family Nanny to join a private household in Silicon Valley, California.

This is an opportunity to become a valued part of a warm, active, and professionally managed family environment, supporting two parents and their three children, ages 3, 7, and 9. The family is seeking a career nanny who combines extensive childcare experience with emotional intelligence, sound judgment, natural warmth, and a thoughtful, service-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable supporting academic development, nurturing emotional growth, coordinating daily routines, and creating engaging experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, and age-appropriate independence, and will innately understand the requirements of various situations with ease. The household is semi-formal, with high standards, established systems, and a dedicated team of professionals. A professionally managed family office provides oversight, legal payroll, written employment policies, guaranteed hours, and a structured work environment. The successful candidate will bring a calm, consistent presence to the home, communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, and adapt gracefully as family needs evolve. Above all, the family is looking for someone who understands that exceptional childcare requires not only experience and skill, but also character, discretion, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to the children's well-being. THE HEART OF THE ROLE At the heart of this opportunity is a family seeking the right person, not simply someone who meets a list of qualifications. They hope to build a lasting relationship with a trusted professional whose character, temperament, and approach to childcare genuinely align with their family values. The ideal nanny will genuinely love working with children and find fulfillment in helping them learn, grow, and become confident, kind, and independent individuals. Whether helping a child master a difficult concept, encouraging patience between siblings, or bringing a sense of calm to a busy day, this person will recognize the meaningful impact of their everyday contributions. The family values someone who is steady, emotionally intelligent, kind, and intuitive, with excellent judgment and the common sense to recognize what a situation requires without constant direction. Equally important is an understanding of professional boundaries—knowing when to engage, when to take initiative, and when to step back to respect the family's privacy and preferences. The right candidate will be warm without being overly familiar, proactive without overstepping, and flexible without sacrificing consistency. They will enjoy collaborating with an established household team, welcome feedback, and take genuine pride in providing thoughtful, dependable support. What makes this opportunity especially rewarding is the chance to play a meaningful role in the children's lives while working within a professional, well-supported household that values trust, consistency, and exceptional care. For someone who finds satisfaction in being of service, the reward extends beyond the generous compensation and benefits to the quiet fulfillment of knowing their presence makes a positive difference in the family's everyday life. Above all, the family is looking for someone who will feel genuinely connected to the work, respected in their professional role, and invested in building a successful, long-term relationship. ABOUT THE FAMILY & HOUSEHOLD The principals are a young couple with three children, ages 3, 7, and 9, who reside primarily in Silicon Valley and maintain nearby secondary residences. Their home operates within a semi-formal environment supported by an established household team and a professionally managed family office. The family values organization, professionalism, confidentiality, flexibility, and a calm atmosphere. They are intentional about their children's education, development, manners, emotional well-being, and opportunities for enrichment. The nanny will work closely with the parents as a primary source of day-to-day childcare support, while collaborating with other nannies, chefs, housekeepers, and household professionals to ensure consistency and smooth operations. The household offers a structured employment environment with written policies, guaranteed hours, and a commitment to professional standards.

Help maintain familiar routines and consistency across different residences and travel environments.

Ensure all family homes are optimally organized and equipped for the children's needs. Adapt comfortably to changes in location, itinerary, or family priorities while maintaining a steady, positive approach.
