Position Overview

Helix Community Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our team at Harmony & Justice, serving students in grades 6–12.

We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who can make mathematics engaging, build strong relationships with students, and create a positive, structured learning environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent classroom management skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to helping students achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with curriculum standards and student learning objectives.
• Provide instruction to students in grades 6–12 using teaching strategies that accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment with clear behavioral expectations.
• Monitor and assess student progress, using performance data to adjust instruction and provide additional support.
• Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and active student participation.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic performance.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and school leadership while participating in professional development and school activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Excellent classroom management skills required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create engaging lessons and support students with diverse learning needs.
• Commitment to student achievement and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous classroom teaching experience.
• Middle school or high school mathematics teaching certification.
• Experience developing and implementing mathematics curriculum.
• Experience using student performance data to guide instruction.
