Wind Blade Driver

Southern Transport is seeking experienced Wind Blade Drivers to safely transport wind turbine blades and other oversized renewable energy components throughout the United States. Drivers operate specialized blade transport equipment and work closely with permit coordinators, route survey teams, escort vehicles, dispatch, and customers to execute complex moves safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include

trailer setup, route compliance, load securement, equipment inspections, and adherence to all DOT, permit, and customer safety requirements. Successful candidates understand the unique challenges associated with wind energy transportation, including navigating restricted routes, managing specialized trailer systems, and maintaining constant attention to safety.

This role requires professionalism, patience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to adapt to changing project demands. Valid CDL Class A driver's license required Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience Prior wind blade transportation experience required Experience operating steerable blade trailers and specialized transport equipment Strong understanding of oversize permits, routing, and escort requirements Knowledge of load securement and oversized load safety practices Ability to travel extensively and work extended schedules Strong safety record and professional work history Ability to pass pre-employment screening
