Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Accounting Processes & Training Location: Knoxville, TN Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $60,000 - 65,000 annually, depending on experience Position Overview We are seeking an experienced accountant to help us establish and improve our accounting processes, train our staff, and ensure we are following proper accounting practices.

We are looking for someone who can do more than manage the books. The ideal candidate will teach us what we should be doing, explain why it matters, and help us develop efficient, accurate, and consistent accounting procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Review current accounting practices and recommend improvements. Establish and document proper accounting procedures and internal controls. Train ownership and staff on accounting processes and responsibilities. Oversee reconciliations, month-end closing, and financial reporting. Help management understand financial statements, cash flow, expenses, and profitability.

Improve accounting systems, recordkeeping, and financial accuracy. Coordinate with outside CPAs and tax professionals as needed.

Qualifications

5+ years of accounting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations. Experience improving accounting procedures and training others. Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.

Compensation

Salary range of $60,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
