• Akron, OH, Salary Range: $16.50 - $16.50Hourly, Make a Difference at Home Are you a compassionate, dependable person who enjoys helping others live safely and comfortably in their own home? We are seeking a Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. In this role, you will help individuals maintain their daily routines, make personal choices, and participate in everyday life while promoting dignity, independence, and respect.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting, according to individual needs. Support meal preparation, eating, hydration, and other daily household routines. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and comfortable living environment. Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and other physical support needs.

Encourage individuals to make choices and exercise their rights while respecting privacy, dignity, and personal preferences. Follow each individual's Individual Service Plan (ISP) and applicable behavioral support strategies. Monitor individuals' health and well-being, recognize changes in condition, and respond appropriately to medical or other emergencies.

Complete accurate daily service documentation and required records. Support individuals with appropriate recreational activities and everyday community participation.

Qualifications

Must demonstrate patience, reliability, and professionalism. A high school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Previous caregiving, residential support, or direct care experience is helpful but not required if the candidate can meet the position's training and competency requirements.
