Commercial Lead (MRICS) – Hospital Construction Location: UK (Project-based / Hybrid Working Available) Sector: Healthcare / Hospital Construction Salary: Competitive + Benefits Package Contract Type: Permanent The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lead (MRICS) to oversee the commercial delivery of major hospital and healthcare construction projects .

This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape commercially robust outcomes on complex, high‑value developments that make a genuine social impact. Working closely with clients, delivery teams, consultants, and supply chain partners, you will take full ownership of commercial strategy from project inception through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the commercial management of hospital construction projects from pre‑construction through delivery and handover Develop and implement commercial strategies , cost plans, and procurement approaches aligned with healthcare regulations and standards Provide expert advice on contract administration , risk management, and change control Manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and cost reporting Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors Mentor and manage commercial teams, fostering best practice and professional development Build strong client relationships and support business development opportunities within the healthcare sector Ensure compliance with NHS frameworks, governance requirements, and relevant construction standards About You MRICS qualified (essential) Proven experience as a Commercial Lead, Commercial Manager, or Senior Quantity Surveyor within large‑scale construction Demonstrable experience delivering hospital or healthcare projects (acute, mental health, community, or similar) Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts , ideally within public‑sector environments Commercially astute with excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills Confident communicator able to engage with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams What We Offer Competitive salary and performance‑related bonus Car allowance or travel support Pension scheme and private healthcare Flexible and hybrid working options Clear progression pathways on nationally significant healthcare programmes Opportunities to work on projects that deliver real community impact How to Apply If you are a commercially driven professional with a passion for healthcare construction, we’d love to hear from you.
