Scientist I – Bioanalytical Chemistry

Currently, we are looking to add a Scientist I to the team to assist in providing LC-MS-based analytical services of lipids and other small molecules.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain HPLC-MS/MS instrumentation. Perform quantitative HPLC and HPLC-MS analysis of target analytes in a variety of matrices. Prepare solvents, mobile phases, and analytical samples of diverse origins. Interpret analytical data - suggest and assist in developing new analytical methods. Keep complete and accurate record of all observations, measurements, techniques, procedures, and conclusions in a laboratory notebook.
Search, interpret, and utilize scientific literature. Help prepare scientific papers and technical reports for publication and/or presentation. Offer technical support to teammates, other staff, and customers as needed.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in chemistry or a related field. Experience: 8 years (with Bachelor’s), 5 years (with Master’s), 0 years (with PhD). Extensive hands-on experience running HPLC and mass spectrometry equipment, developing HPLC methods, and interpreting LC-MS/MS data. Specific experience in drug pharmacokinetic analysis or lipid analysis preferred.
Solid knowledge of organic and analytical chemistry. Proficiency in general lab calculations and common lab software. Ability to work normal business hours on-site in Ann Arbor, MI. Demonstrate Cayman’s Core Values
