Outpatient Pharmacy Technician

General Function: Functions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist with all daily retail operations of the Outpatient Pharmacy and the hospital's Meds-to-Bed bedside delivery service. Primary duties include entering and adjudicating prescription orders, counting and packaging medications, operating point-of-sale registers, managing inventory, and coordinating bedside discharge medication deliveries with hospital nursing units POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Educational Requirements: High School Graduate Experience Requirements: Basic typing and computer skills; retail or outpatient pharmacy experience preferred Special Requirements: Current certification with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
