Drinking Water Project Engineer (Mid-Level) Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Drinking Water Project Engineer for our Charlotte, NC office. As part of our design and process teams, you will be working on all phases of drinking water / reuse projects. Key Responsibilities
Your role
will include, project engineering/management, design, planning, operational support with a focus on water reuse and drinking water projects Supporting proposal development. Mentor junior drinking water staff. Coordination and collaboration with clients. Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery.
Supporting projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements. Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients. Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small to medium projects. Performing planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental/chemical/mechanical engineering PE license 4-12 years of experience in municipal water treatment, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams Proficient in all MS Office based computer software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies Self-starter with attention to detail Strong organizational skills Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (Master’s) in Civil/Environmental/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering What We Offer: Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, and prescription plans) Pre-tax flexible spending plans for medical, dependent care, and transportation Short and long-term disability, and employer paid life insurance Paid holidays, floating holidays, and paid time off (PTO) Employer-contributed 401(k) plan and additional financial planning support Professional growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, in-house training, and incentives for professional registration and professional organization memberships Starting pay range for this position depends on skills, experience, education and geographical location
