Dishwasher/Busser - Valparaiso, IN

Job description: A Dishwasher, or Kitchen Helper, is responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans and glasses. Their duties include prioritizing loads of different types of crockery and kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher and placing dishes to dry.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day Ability to place cases, pans, utensils and plates on both low and high shelves Ability to respond to emergency situations to avoid endangering themselves or othersA Busser, or Food Runner, is in charge of setting and clearing tables at a dining establishment to provide a clean and tidy environment for restaurant patrons.

Removing used plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins from tables after diners are done eating Wiping up water spills, food stains and dirt from tables Straightening out the tablecloth or replacing stained ones Replacing cutlery and glassware in anticipation of new diners Refilling paper napkins, salt and pepper shakers and any other depleted condiments on the dining table Refilling drinking glasses with water Bringing out meal orders if waitstaff are busy Handling cleaning of the dining area at the close of day Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Experience: dishwashing and bussing: 1 year (Preferred) Shift availability: Night Shift (Preferred) Day Shift (Preferred)
