Or a former HVAC Sales Consultant or Virtual Advisor who wants to stay close to the customer and the equipment? At Mr. Holland’s Home Services (a proud brand of Clarion Home Services Group), we are looking for a Selling HVAC Technician who pairs strong technical expertise with great customer consultation.

You’ll identify replacement opportunities in the field and turn those leads over to our sales team, who will present replacement options to the customer. Job Title: Selling HVAC Technician Work Location: Jackson, WI and surrounding area Work Arrangement: On-site and field-based Employment Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday through Friday; daily start and end times vary based on project demands.

Variable full-time schedule, up to 40 hours per week (hours are driven by project workloads and seasonal business needs; a minimum number of weekly hours is not guaranteed). Occasional overtime, weekend shifts, and after-hours work may be required depending on business needs. Travel: Daily travel to residential/commercial job sites throughout the local branch’s service region.

Compensation

$30.00–$45.00+/hr, with on-target earnings (OTE) of $70,000–$170,000+ annually based on performance, plus service spiffs.

What You'll Do

Diagnose & Maintain: Run root-cause diagnostics on residential heating and cooling systems and perform high-quality preventative maintenance. Identify Opportunities: Evaluate aging or inefficient equipment, note repair-versus-replace indicators, and educate customers on modern system upgrades, IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) solutions, and maintenance memberships.

Turn Over Leads: Establish strong professional rapport with homeowners, and when a replacement opportunity arises, turn the lead over to our sales team with clear notes on the system and customer needs so they can present replacement options and close the sale. Maximize Your Routes: Maintain consistent communication with Dispatch and the sales team to hand off leads smoothly, maximize your daily efficiency, and grow your spiff potential.

Stay Organized: Manage a fully stocked, modern service vehicle and ensure all job sites are kept clean, safe, and organized. Complete digital paperwork accurately via company mobile platforms. What You Bring: Experience: 2+ years of residential HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience. Prior experience as an HVAC Sales Consultant or Virtual Advisor is a strong plus.

Knowledge of local HVAC codes and safety standards. Licensing: EPA Certification (Type II or Universal) preferred. Communication & Sales Mindset: Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and comfort recognizing sales opportunities and handing them off to the sales team. Integrity: High integrity with a strong desire for continuous improvement.

Reliability: Valid driver’s license with an insurable record. Compliance: Ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50-75 lbs. Ability to frequent stoop, kneel and crouch to work in tight spaces. Ability to climb and work from ladders.

Must be able to work in both extreme heat and cold, as well as adverse weather conditions.

Compensation

Pay Range

$30.00–$45.00+/hr based on experience. On-Target Earnings (OTE): $70,000–$170,000+ annually, based on performance. Range Basis: Within this range, an individual's starting pay is determined by several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, qualifications, professional experience, and internal equity across our organization.

Other Compensation: Overtime eligibility, and opportunity for service spiffs. See benefits listed above. Overtime Classification: Hourly, non-exempt.
