Job description

Cost Estimation and Budget Management Lead the preparation and management of project budgets, including initial cost estimates, detailed cost plans, and ongoing budget reviews. Ensure all cost estimates are accurate and realistic by evaluating designs, project specifications, and timelines. Monitor and control project expenses, adjusting estimates as needed to align with budget constraints.

Contract Administration and Management Draft, evaluate, and negotiate contracts, including bills of quantities, schedules of work, and other project documentation. Manage and resolve contract issues, disputes, and claims to protect the organization’s financial interests. Ensure that all project agreements comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.

Value Engineering and Cost Control Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering without compromising on quality or project objectives. Implement and maintain cost-control measures to prevent budget overruns and ensure financial efficiency. Conduct regular cost analysis to optimize resource allocation, materials usage, and labor costs.

Tendering and Procurement Oversee the tendering process, including preparation of tender documents, evaluating bids, and recommending suitable contractors. Work closely with procurement teams to secure competitive pricing for materials and services, ensuring quality and cost efficiency. Establish and maintain vendor relationships to support smooth project execution and maintain budget compliance.

Project Financial Reporting and Analysis Generate financial reports, cost forecasts, and progress summaries to keep stakeholders informed on project status. Conduct periodic site visits to monitor project progress, validate expenditure, and align costs with milestones. Provide guidance to project teams on financial management, ensuring decisions align with budget objectives.

Mentorship and Team Leadership Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors, providing training on cost estimation, contract management, and best practices. Support team members by reviewing their work, offering feedback, and fostering a collaborative environment. Act as a point of escalation for complex project issues, providing expert advice and solutions.
