• Catoosa, OK, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School/GED, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Manufacturing, We are looking for an experienced Structural Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for cutting, fitting, tack welding, finish welding, and assembling structural steel parts and sub-assemblies according to blueprints, drawings, specifications, and established welding procedures. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, productive, dependable, and takes pride in producing quality work.

Responsibilities

Follow all company safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Read and understand blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, dimensions, and specifications. Cut, fit, tack weld, finish weld, and assemble structural steel parts and sub-assemblies. Perform GMAW and FCAW welding processes in the fabrication of various structural components.

Set up and operate welding equipment according to established procedures. Weld within the parameters of applicable WPS/PQR requirements. Complete weld qualifications for required welding processes and maintain qualifications as required. Inspect welds and recognize sub-standard welds that require correction or repair.

Perform grinding, sanding, and other finishing or repair work as needed. Work independently to complete assigned jobs safely, efficiently, and within estimated hours. Work with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and company goals. Assist with basic assembly, material handling, shop cleanup, and other tasks when needed.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment. Complete assigned work safely, accurately, and on schedule. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in shop fabrication and welding of structural steel parts and sub-assemblies. Strong knowledge and experience with GMAW and FCAW welding processes. Ability to pass and maintain required weld qualifications. Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, dimensions, and weld symbols.

Ability to independently fit, tack, weld, and assemble structural components according to prints. Ability to weld within WPS/PQR requirements. Ability to identify and correct sub-standard welds while maintaining product quality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to efficiently complete work within established production schedules and estimated hours. Dependable, punctual, and willing to work overtime or outside normal hours when needed. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to company goals. Willingness to assist outside of welding duties when needed, including assembly, grinding, sanding, and shop cleanup.

Takes pride in workmanship and maintaining a high standard of quality. Working Conditions Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing shop environment. Exposure to welding fumes and gases, grinding dust, sparks, noise, and hot or cold temperatures. Shop areas are not fully climate controlled and may experience high temperatures during summer months and cold temperatures during winter months.

Must be able to safely lift and handle up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in various physical positions throughout the workday. May be required to work in confined or congested areas, including inside heat exchangers or vessels. May be required to work at elevated heights on top of exchangers or vessels and use required fall-protection equipment.

Must be able to safely enter, exit, and work productively in confined spaces. Must wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures. Overtime, extended hours, or schedule changes may be required based on production and project needs.
