Baker Location: NM B&B Myrtle Beach, SC, 29577 New Morning | Breakfast, Brunch & Bubbly Position Summary The Baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of fresh pastries, breads, and baked goods for New Morning Breakfast, Brunch & Bubbly. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage daily production efficiently in a fast-paced breakfast and brunch environment.

Essential Duties

& Responsibilities Baking & Food Preparation Prepare and bake breakfast pastries, breads, muffins, biscuits, scones, and other baked goods according to established recipes. Measure, mix, portion, shape, and bake products using proper techniques and equipment. Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, glazes, frostings, and other components as needed.

Monitor baking times, temperatures, and finished products to ensure consistency. Ensure baked goods are fresh and ready for service according to daily production schedules. Assist with seasonal specials and new bakery offerings. Daily Production & Organization Plan and execute daily baking production based on anticipated business levels and established par levels.

Organize production schedules to ensure products are available before and throughout service. Monitor inventory, communicate ordering needs, and minimize waste. Properly label, date, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked baking station. Complete assigned opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities.

Properly operate and maintain ovens, mixers, refrigeration, and other baking equipment. Food Safety & Sanitation Follow all company food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures. Maintain proper storage temperatures and safe food handling practices. Follow established allergen protocols and prevent cross-contamination.

Monitor ingredient freshness and properly dispose of expired or unusable products. Report equipment concerns, maintenance needs, and food safety issues to management. Teamwork & Communication Work collaboratively with culinary leadership, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team members. Communicate daily production levels, product availability, and shortages.

Assist with additional kitchen preparation and responsibilities as needed. Maintain a sense of urgency and adapt to changing business demands. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

& Requirements Previous baking, pastry, or professional kitchen experience preferred. Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, measurements, and equipment. Ability to accurately follow recipes and production schedules. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.

Understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures. Dependable, punctual, and committed to teamwork. Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Culinary or baking education is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and repetitive hand movements. Ability to work safely around hot ovens, mixers, sharp utensils, and other kitchen equipment. Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures. Performance Expectations Consistent execution of recipes and product specifications. Timely completion of daily production requirements.
