Manager, Social Media & Digital Content

Durham, NC, United StatesFull-timePosted Nov 6, 2026

Job description

Why This Role Matters The Durham Bulls are one of the best-known brands in minor league baseball, and most people meet us on a phone screen before they ever walk through the gates at the DBAP. Your work is often the first reason someone buys a ticket. We are more than what happens on the field. A sunset over the Blue Monster, a kid catching their first foul ball, or the energy of a Friday night fireworks crowd can tell a stronger story than any box score.

Our content should make people feel something and make them wish they were here.

Position Overview

The Manager, Social Media & Digital Content owns the day-to-day voice of the Durham Bulls online: social channels and the team website. You will help plan, create, publish, and measure content that grows our audience and drives real business results, including ticket sales, partner value, and community reach. You will work closely with the Marketing Leadership, our graphics and video teams, ticketing, corporate partnerships, and community relations.

You start by executing an agreed calendar and brand direction, and you earn more creative ownership as you show strong judgment and results.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Execution Run daily posting and community engagement across all Bulls social platforms, YouTube and LinkedIn. Work closely with mascot coordinator on Wool E. Bull’s accounts. Cover games live: in-game posts, highlights, promotions, and moments in the stands, published fast and on-brand. Respond to fans in comments and messages and flag service issues or negative trends to the right department quickly.

Watch platform trends and act on the ones that fit the Bulls brand. Content & Storytelling Plan and deliver content with our graphics and video teams, and with photographers and creators as needed. Shoot and edit quick-turn photo and mobile video, especially during games and events. Write clear, creative captions and copy in the Bulls’ voice.

Tell stories beyond baseball: the ballpark, fans, staff, community, and the full Bulls experience. Build relationships with local creators and influencers who can bring new fans to the DBAP. Revenue & Partnerships Create content that sells: tickets, group outings, theme nights, and merchandise, in coordination with ticketing and marketing.

Deliver and document social and web assets promised to corporate partners and help develop new sponsorable content ideas. Support paid social campaigns, including creative, targeting input, and performance tracking. Calendar, Planning & Collaboration Build and maintain the content calendar with leadership, covering the season, offseason, and special events.

Coordinate content around promotions, partnerships, community initiatives, the Tampa Bay Rays and MiLB where applicable. Bring new ideas to the table, take feedback well, and follow through on agreed priorities. Website Management Own routine updates to the Bulls website so schedules, promotions, news, and fan information are accurate and current.

Gather timely content from other departments and recommend improvements to the online fan experience. Monitor and respond to fan inquiries through the email tied to the website. Measurement & Reporting Track performance across channels and the website and share a regular report with clear learnings and recommendations.

Use results to adjust the content mix, posting times, and formats. How Success Is Measured Targets will be set with the leadership in your first 90 days. In year one, success looks like: Steady growth in engagement, impressions and followers on our priority platforms. Measurable traffic from social to ticketing and promotion pages.

Every partner social and web deliverable completed on time and documented for renewal. A content calendar that is always current, with no missed game days or major promotions. A website fans can trust to be accurate. What We’re Looking For Required 3+ years of experience in social media, digital content, or a related field.

Sports or entertainment experience helps but is not required. A portfolio or accounts you can show us that prove you can make content people stop for. Strong instincts for what makes content emotional, timely, and worth sharing. Comfort shooting and editing mobile photo and video and writing original social copy. Working knowledge of the major social platforms and their native analytics.

Basic experience updating a website or content management system. Strong organization and follow-through during busy calendars and live events. Good judgment and an understanding of what it means to represent a public brand. Schedule & Work Environment This is an on-site, event-driven role. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is required during the season and at other events, often in busy, noisy, outdoor conditions.

The offseason is for planning, building content libraries, special event content and setting up the next season. Our goal is simple: show people what makes the Durham Bulls special, not just what happened at the game, but why being here matters.
