Forklift Operator

Position Overview

Safely operate a LP powered industrial truck equipped with tilting forks to lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials to and/or from storage areas, machines, loading docks, warehouse facilities, or truck trailers.

Responsibilities

Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records. Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.

Responsibilities include

Obtaining a copy of the production schedule or shipping order and transporting materials to and from designated areas in the facility; Providing raw materials or stock to production machines per the production schedule; Loading/unloading goods from truck and trailers; Moving goods packed on slip sheets and pallets around the facility; Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control procedures; Checking loads are secure; and Removing waste materials from machines.

Maintain a clean & safe environment. Required use of RF scanning equipment. Lubricate truck, refuel or replace liquefied gas. Keep radiator clear of dust and debris. Complete daily safety and maintenance checks, per OSHA guidelines, reporting any issues to maintenance for repair.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle license may be required. Forklift certification will be required and performed onsite per OSHA standards. Must have two (2) years of previous experience positioning forks over, under, or around bundles, loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials.

NOTE: most units will NOT be on pallets. Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills required. High degree of attention required to prevent injury to yourself and others. Ability to inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials when needed.
