Job description

The Certified Dietary Manager provides direct nutrition services to patients and prepares food in accordance with current applicable state and federal regulations, facility procedures and policies, and as may be directed by the Administrator, Dietitian and/or Food Services Director, to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

BS with emphasis in Nutrition Dietetics, and/or A graduate of a dietetic technician or dietetic assistant training program by correspondence or classroom approved by Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and/or an individual who has successfully completed in-person or online coursework that provided (90) or more hours of classroom instruction in food service supervision.

Relevant Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of dietary experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other medical facility. Licenses/Certifications: Current Dietary Manager Certification Benefits Overview: Competitive Pay Rates 22-25% AT&T and Verizon Cell Phone Discount (Depending on plan) Affordable Medical Insurance Dental, and Vision Insurance Offered as well as supplemental plans Employer Paid Life Insurance 100% Employer paid ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) Opportunity for CEU Reimbursement 401K offered ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete production sheets for following day Make purchases for select menus Assist and observe tray line Monitor meals Instruct and assist cook as needed Chart as needed Attend and participate in patient feeding process Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of the position Review menus prior to preparation of food Work with the facility’s dietitian to implement recommended changes, assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physician, and ensure that food is available for preparation by cooks Order, prepare, and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in accordance with portion control procedures, as well as for therapeutic diets in accordance with scheduled menus and sanitary regulations Inspect special diet trays to ensure accuracy, portion control, appealing layout, etc.

, and evaluate kitchen and dietary area for upkeep, supply control, cleanliness and safety Recognize and respond to dietary emergencies, and document observations, interventions and outcomes Interpret department policies and procedures for employees, patients, families, visitors, governmental agencies Complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc.

, to ensure control of equipment and supplies Assist in developing methods to determine quality and quantity of food served Meet with dietary personnel to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and the improvement of services, and ensure that food service is properly maintained to meet the needs of patients Assist with a plan of correction for dietary deficiencies noted during survey inspections Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patient information and facility business Follow the established universal precautions and isolation procedures Encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in patients’ personal and health care needs Tennessee Health Management Inc.
