Job description
We are looking for an Azure SQL Database Administrator (Azure SQL DBA) with strong expertise in managing, optimizing, and securing Azure database environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Server, database migrations, performance tuning, backup and disaster recovery strategies, and Azure networking.
You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, optimizing database performance, implementing security best practices, and managing complex database migration projects in Azure.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and optimize Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance environments. Plan and execute complex database migrations using Azure Database Migration Service (DMS). Perform database administration tasks using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Implement and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning. Configure and manage Azure networking, database security, encryption, and auditing. Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform where applicable. Ensure database security, compliance, and governance by implementing Azure best practices.
Troubleshoot production database issues and provide performance recommendations. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable database operations. Key Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of experience as an Azure SQL DBA or Database Administrator. Strong expertise in Azure SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
Hands-on experience with Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) and database migration projects. Proficiency in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation. Strong knowledge of Azure Networking, database security, encryption, and auditing. Expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
