Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic We are seeking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Mashonaland West (Zimbabwe).
Operation al Res ponsibilities Perf orm m a inte nan c e (preventive and corrective) an d m ech a ni cal adj us tments on heav y equipment following manufacturers' guidelines and internal work orders. Perform d e taile d e q u ipment i n sp e ctions to det ect wear, faul t s, and requ i re d maintenanc e actions in line with site maintenance standards.
Diagnose faults and mechanical failures using appropriate tools and techniques. Carry out r e pa ir s and c o mponent repl acements in l i ne with standa rd operating procedures. Diagnose and troublesh oot electrical faul ts in mobil e mining eq u ipment and auxiliary systems. Carry out r epair a nd replacem ent of key ele ct r ical componen t s, particul arly starters and alternators .
Mainta in an d repai r ele ctrica l wiring, circuits , and cont r ol systems on e arthmovin g machinery. Mainta i n ac c u ra t e reco r ds of pe rformed maintenance and repairs. Oversee and guide t he w ork of a ssigned M echa nical Assi stants. Suppor t th e M aint e nance Su pervi sor in rep o rting equipment conditions and technical assessments.
Ensure pr e ve n tive m ainte n ance rep orts a re proper ly completed and documented. Main t ain cleanl iness and orga n izat ion in t he working area. Take care of and p rop e r ly use as s igned tools and equipment. Attend dail y pre-s tart meetings and safety briefings. Safety Responsibilities Comply with a l l company Safe ty Po lic i e s and Pro cedures.
Immedi a tely report any un s afe conditi on s or incidents. Ensu re th a t work is perfor med in acco rdanc e with s i te safety s tan d ards and p rocedures . Use person a l protectiv e equ ipment (PPE ) as requ ired and en s ure subor dinates do the same. Environmenta l R esponsibilities Comply with EPSA's Environmental Best Practices.
Ensure proper treatment and disposal of maintenance-generated waste. Comply with environmental regulations and internal procedures for hazardous materials handling.
Qualifications
National Diesel Plant Fitting . Mi nimum 5 years of hands-on experience wit h hea vy mini ng equipm e nt . Other requirements OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer ) training or certifications (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, EPIROC, Sandvik, Liebherr, etc.) Familiarity with open- pit operations and large fleet management systems .
K nowledge of hyd ra u lic , elec tr ical , and pneuma tic syste m s . Experience working in remote project sites or international assignments . Pre- Employment Requirements Reference ch e cks wi l l be con ducted . Alcohol an d dru g te s ting ap p lies as per com pany po l icy . All applicants will be subject to an assessment test.
