Description About the Company Our client is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm delivering end‑to‑end solutions across utility, renewable energy, battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other critical infrastructure markets. Based in Houston, Texas, the company leverages deep subject‑matter expertise and an engineering‑led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical infrastructure for clients locally, nationally, and internationally.
Position Overview
An Electrical designer works under the guidance of engineers and provides leadership and direction for drafters.
Responsibilities
Applies principles and techniques of acquired experience to accomplish tasks Provides guidance to draftsmen Produces and guides production of mechanical drawings for construction purposes such as equipment arrangement plans, section views, cable tray plans, switchgear building layouts, and installation details, grounding details, conduit details, foundation details, and steel details Produces electrical schematic, wiring, and interconnection diagrams Calculates, quantifies, specifies, and controls quality of material Provides adaptations to common designs Understands common industry practices Works effectively in a team environment Reports to team supervisor Desired Characteristics and Qualifications Two-year associate degree or equivalent level of experience Basic understanding of power system protection and control systems Electrical substation experience required Efficient mechanical design capabilities Uses experience to apply common practices to designs Understands constructability of design Understands field concepts, practices, and procedures Proficient in AutoCAD or Micro.
Station. Requirements
