Tax Supervisor / Manager Location: Greater Hartford, CT | Full-Time / Onsite Experience: 3–7 years of public accounting experience Salary: $95,000–$150,000/year, depending on experience Bonus: Annual bonus opportunity About the Role Our client is seeking a Tax Supervisor / Manager with a CPA and 3–7 years of public accounting experience to manage tax engagements, supervise and mentor accounting staff, and provide exceptional client service.

This is a hands-on supervisory role with significant client interaction and responsibility for engagement quality and timely completion.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise tax engagements. Supervise, mentor, and review staff accountants. Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns and related workpapers. Research and analyze tax matters and stay current with professional standards and tax regulations. Manage engagement budgets, deadlines, and workflow. Communicate directly with clients and identify additional service opportunities.

Maintain accurate project status and ensure timely completion. Review client information and identify tax planning and compliance opportunities. Provide guidance and support to staff on complex tax and accounting matters. Maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor. Ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with firm standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA required. 3–7 years of public accounting experience required. Supervisory and engagement management experience. Strong tax, accounting, analytical, and client service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
