We're looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join our R&D Innovation Center in Newark, CA. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Operations, you'll help support our pilot manufacturing operation while working alongside engineers to build, improve, and maintain the next generation of automated apparel manufacturing equipment.
This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain existing machines—you'll help shape how they're built.
What you'll do
Keep our pilot manufacturing equipment running through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and hands-on repairs. Diagnose equipment issues and partner with Engineering to develop reliable, long-term solutions. Identify opportunities to improve equipment, manufacturing processes, and workflow efficiency. Great ideas can come from anyone, and we want to hear yours.
Manage spare parts inventory to keep production moving without interruption. Help train teammates on new production equipment and manufacturing processes. Support quality from prototype through pre-production, keeping an eye on the finished garment—not just the machine. Maintain a safe, organized work environment while supporting the broader goals of our manufacturing team.
What you bring: Real experience: y ou've spent time keeping automated equipment running, ideally 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment with heavy automation, and you have hands-on experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment, mechanical prototype fixtures, motors, sensors, and automation systems. A bias towards action: you have the ability to stand for extended periods, stoop, perform repetitive tasks, lift items up to 50 lbs using appropriate safety techniques, and don't hesitate to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done The desire to problem solve: you troubleshoot equipment issues, fix what you can, follow technical instructions, document work, collect data, and know when to bring in engineering A willingness to learn: you're ready to pick up new equipment as we build it out, things like laser cutters, CNC fabric cutters, and adhesive dispensers, even without a manual to follow Dependable: you do what you say you're going to do, keep parts and stock counts accurate, and show up when needed What you'll find here: Collaborate & Communicate every voice matters here, and we truly value a fun, collaborative team First Run you’re building new technology from the ground up, not just maintaining someone else's outdated systems Measured to the Millimeter because close enough isn't good enough here, we make sure every seam comes in under a millimeter, twice the precision of a needle and thread Made to Matter what you make means less waste, less overseas shipping, more improving the world Seamless Support comprehensive wellness benefits (medical, dental, vision, life), 401(k), PTO and training At Create.
