Accountant - Bayview Hospital

Summary: Bayview Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the efficient management of the Company's financial operations by providing analytical and administrative support to the Head of Finance to facilitate sound financial and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain the General Ledger, prepare journal entries and ensure timely reconciliation of all accounts. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash and fixed asset records. Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts, financial statements and supporting schedules. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis to support decision-making.

Prepare and support statutory filings, tax returns and regulatory reporting requirements. Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities and support external audits. Monitor financial records for accuracy, ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies and maintain effective internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting systems and operational efficiency.

Liaise with suppliers, customers, relevant statutory and regulatory bodies on routine financial matters, and assist the Head of Finance in dealings with banks, auditors and other external stakeholders, as required. Provide financial and analytical support for special projects and other duties as assigned by Management.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant accounting experience. ACCA, CGA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred; candidates actively pursuing a recognised qualification with accounting experience will be considered.

Proficiency in Sage or any other accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Excellent command of English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
