Director of Media Production

Position: Director of Media Production Department: AE Media Reporting to: VP of Media & Advertising Location: Topeka, KS

• Onsite Overview: Are you a media production leader who knows how to bring creative ideas to life while building the teams, processes, and systems that make great work happen at scale? Advisors Excel is looking for a Director of Media Production to lead our video, television, and audio production teams and help shape the future of our media operations. In this role, you’ll bring production disciplines together, develop talented teams, and create efficient workflows that deliver high-quality media for financial advisors across multiple channels. You’ll partner with content, marketing, brand, and digital teams to turn creative strategies into polished media assets that support advisor growth and business results. What you’ll do: Lead and develop production teams: Oversee video, television, and audio production, building a collaborative culture focused on quality, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Grow talent and strengthen leadership: Hire, coach, and develop team members and production leaders while setting clear expectations, goals, and performance standards. Drive production excellence: Establish consistent production standards and best practices that deliver professional, high-quality media across channels and formats. Build efficient, scalable workflows: Improve processes, turnaround times, and production capacity to support growing demand without sacrificing quality. Connect creative strategy with execution: Partner with Content & Talent, Strategic Marketing Performance Coaches, Brand Experience, and Digital teams to bring creative concepts to life and create a cohesive advisor brand experience. Manage priorities and resources: Oversee workloads, deadlines, and resource allocation to keep projects moving efficiently and meet business needs. Champion innovation: Evaluate and implement new production technologies, tools, and AI-enabled solutions that improve team effectiveness and expand production capabilities. Make the most of every asset: Identify opportunities to repurpose content across channels, support creative testing, and maximize the value of production efforts. Use data to drive improvement: Monitor performance metrics, identify opportunities for greater efficiency and cost effectiveness, and share recommendations with leadership. Plan for future growth: Evaluate team structure, technology, and production capabilities to ensure our operations can support evolving business needs. Experience you’ll bring: 7+ years of experience in video, television, audio, or multimedia production. 3+ years of experience leading, coaching, and developing production, creative, or operational teams. Experience managing production operations, workflows, and deliverables across multiple projects or channels. Strong knowledge of production processes, technologies, and best practices across video, television, audio, or related media formats. A track record of improving or scaling production processes, teams, or operational capabilities. The ability to manage competing priorities, stakeholder needs, deadlines, and resources in a fast-paced environment. Experience using performance metrics and operational data to guide decisions and improve processes. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Bonus Points: Experience implementing production technology, digital asset management systems, or AI-enabled production tools. Experience supporting performance-driven marketing, direct-response creative, or testing initiatives. A bachelor's degree in Media Production, Broadcasting, Communications, Film, Marketing, or a related field—or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
