Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Welder III is responsible for ensuring all welding tasks meet project specifications and deadlines. This position requires advanced welding knowledge. Role and Responsibilities Perform complex welding tasks on various materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and ductile iron. Oversee the quality control of welding operations to ensure compliance with company standards.

Conduct inspections, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed. Train and mentor Level I and Level II welders, providing guidance and technical advice. Collaborate with the Plant Manager and other department leads to ensure efficient production. Maintain safety and cleanliness standards in all welding areas.

Qualifications

and Education Requirements Extensive welding knowledge and experience. High school diploma or GED required; advanced welding certifications required. Proficient in advanced welding techniques, FCAW, GMAW and SMAW. Strong ability to interpret and follow complex blueprints and specifications. Pass NDT; certified in multiple procedures and processes (Xray, API, UT).

Advanced welding certification preferred AWS D1.1 and ASME Section 9.

Preferred Skills

Advanced problem-solving and technical skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments. Ability to read, write and speak in English. Knowledge of GTAW. Physical Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods. Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).

Ability to operate jib crane and overhead cranes. Comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment with protective gear. Comfortable working in confined spaces or at various heights.
