We are looking for a driven and experienced Transport Manager to oversee transport operations, ensuring efficient fleet utilisation, excellent customer service, and full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Purpose of the Role To provide a complete and reliable delivery service to all customers, ensuring all transport operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with company standards and legal compliance frameworks. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will manage the day-to-day movements of the transport fleet while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and allocate daily workload, scheduling all logistical movements to meet customer demands Manage fleet operations including low loaders, HIABs, and beavertail vehicles Oversee the movement of plant machinery, ensuring correct documentation and compliance with STGO regulations Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachographs, driver hours, and vehicle checks Monitor and manage the department’s administrative processes in relation to haulage Work closely with the service team to maintain high standards of vehicle maintenance and availability Liaise with customers daily to coordinate deliveries and collections, factoring in site constraints and timing requirements Improve fleet efficiency, routing, and MPG performance regulatory requirements.
