Supply Planner
Job description
Are you someone who loves working with numbers, solving problems and making sure everything is exactly where it needs to be? We are looking for a Supply Planner who can keep stock moving, suppliers on track and products ready when they are needed. Join a fast paced FMCG environment where your planning skills will help deliver quality, competitively priced products and promotions while keeping the entire supply chain running smoothly.
What will you be doing? Plan stock levels, replenishment and purchasing to ensure product availability while minimising excess and slow moving stock. Use demand forecasts to plan procurement, production and replenishment requirements. Monitor stock movements, incoming shipments, purchase orders and delivery timelines.
Build supplier relationships, communicate forecasts and follow up on delayed orders. Ensure raw materials, packaging and components are available when needed. Coordinate supply requirements for promotions and new product launches, including supplier timelines and logistics. Identify and manage risks relating to stock shortages, supplier delays, production constraints and warehouse capacity.
Develop recovery plans for potential stockouts and communicate supply risks to relevant teams. Maintain planning reports, dashboards, stock records and key performance indicators. Prepare supply planning updates and support budgeting, inventory valuation and supply chain reviews. Maintain accurate product information, supplier lead times, stock levels and bills of materials within the ERP system.
Keep planning procedures up to date and ensure records are accurate and audit ready.
Requirements
Matric certificate and a relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field. Two to three years of experience in supply planning or procurement. Experience in an FMCG, manufacturing or similar environment will be advantageous. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
Good understanding of inventory management, replenishment planning, safety stock, supplier lead times and purchasing requirements. Ability to translate demand forecasts into accurate supply and procurement plans. Experience managing suppliers, stock availability and supply chain risks. Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and follow through. Experience with ERP systems, preferably Odoo, and BI reporting will be advantageous. APICS or CSCP certification will be an added advantage. Valid driver's licence and reliable transport. Willingness to travel when required.
