Health Center Driver Department: Health Center and Campus Safety Reports to: Director of Health Services Status: Hourly, benefit eligible Schedule: Weekdays, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Compensation

$21.00 per hour Benefits: Eligible employees may receive a comprehensive benefits package that may include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan contributions Life and disability insurance Paid vacation and holidays Professional development support Tuition assistance and educational benefits where applicable Access to campus programs and resources Position Summary The Health Center Driver safely transports students to off-campus medical appointments and the pharmacy, supports students who are ill or injured, and coordinates closely with the Health Center and Campus Safety.

Responsibilities

Student Transportation Drive students to off-campus medical appointments in School sedans, SUVs, and minibuses Assist injured students in and out of vehicles and medical facilities Transport students to the emergency room and stay with them until another adult arrives Pick up medications from the local pharmacy as needed Vehicle Care Complete periodic driver inspections Fuel fleet vehicles as needed Scheduling and Records Use email and mobile devices to coordinate driving appointments Log driving records and help with School car reservations on a workstation computer Communicate clearly with Health Center and Campus Safety staff, faculty, staff, students, and parents Take on additional Health Center and Campus Safety tasks as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Five or more years of driving experience Valid Connecticut motor vehicle operator's license, proper insurance, and a driving record satisfactory to the School Ability to obtain and maintain the required Connecticut driver's license endorsement ("S," "V," or "A") and a valid medical certificate Ability to pass required background checks and quarterly drug testing, including testing for marijuana Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of School student conduct regulations Familiarity with laws pertaining to juveniles Experience working with adolescents Equal Opportunity The Taft School is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer in accordance with regulations adopted by the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
