Packing Lead

Aluminum Extrusion Team Lead – Packing Reports To: Production Supervisor / Operations Manager Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Team Lead for the Packing Department within our Aluminum Extrusion facility. The ideal candidate will lead and coordinate packing operations, ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, and drive productivity within the team.

This position plays a key role in ensuring that finished extrusions are packed correctly, efficiently, and according to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support the packing team on daily operations.
• Ensure proper packing of aluminum extrusions according to customer requirements and company standards.
• Monitor packaging supplies and coordinate with inventory/warehouse staff to maintain adequate stock.
• Train and mentor team members on packing procedures, safety, and quality standards.
• Inspect finished goods for quality, packaging integrity, and correct labeling.
• Maintain accurate production records, including shift reports and packing documentation.
• Coordinate with production, quality control, and shipping departments to meet delivery timelines.
• Enforce safety rules and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Recommend improvements to packing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Assist in conflict resolution and promote a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of aluminum profiles, packaging materials, and protection methods.
• Ability to read and interpret packing instructions, work orders, and blueprints.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Basic computer and reporting skills.
