Payment Poster Medical Specialist

Premier Dermatology provides billing and operational support to Dermatology practices in Southwest Florida. Our practices provide general dermatology, MOHS surgery, cosmetics, and aesthetic services. Position: Payment Poster Medical Specialist Our Payment Poster is responsible for accurately processing and recording payments from insurance companies and patients into patient accounts, a role critical for maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the revenue cycle.

This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of medical coding, and familiarity with billing and insurance processes, with responsibilities including reconciling payment discrepancies and researching misapplied payments.

Key Responsibilities

Processing payments: Accepting and accurately posting ERA and paper checks / remit payments from insurance companies and patients to the correct patient accounts. Reconciliation: Identifying and resolving payment discrepancies by communicating with billing or collections teams. Record Keeping: Maintaining organized and accurate records of all payments and financial transactions.

Required Skills

Computer skills Microsoft – Word and Excel Electronic payment remittance process Understanding healthcare coding and terminology is crucial for accurate payment posting. Ability to work as part of a team to provide quality services to all Central Billing Office customers (internal and external) Knowledge of Medical Billing: Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and the healthcare revenue cycle.

Working Conditions: Candidates must live in Florida: Manatee County or Sarasota County Onsite position in Sarasota, Florida Professional and Reliable Office environment, casual business dress Benefits: health, dental, vision, and other benefits.
