Primary Function This position requires a smile and a positive, friendly presence while interacting with guests on the retail sales floor. The main function is to interact with guests and ensure each one is having an exceptional shopping experience. A basic understanding of jewelry terminology and sales techniques is desirable but not required.

The focus is on learning guests' jewelry wants, interests, and needs, with a strong emphasis on developing product knowledge for a long-term, professional position within the company. A professional appearance is required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional guest service in this one-on-one sales environment; make each guest feel welcome and learn their jewelry wants, interests, and needs. Be familiar with and willing to learn different types of jewelry, including variations in precious metals and stones (e.g., gold, silver, platinum, etc.) Stay familiar with current trends and designs in fine and costume jewelry, as instructed by the Jewelry Manager.

Be familiar with the location of merchandise and help guests locate items of interest. Demonstrate basic understanding and operation of the cash register. Keep merchandise straightened, clean, and organized by following weekly task guidelines. Keep showcases and floor space stocked with costume jewelry; being in stock is an important aspect of the guest experience.

Maintain complete stock of paper supplies (bags, boxes, tissue paper, etc.) Report all suspicious activity or shoplifting to the Asset Protection Manager in a timely manner. Report any merchandise issues or product loss to the Jewelry Manager. All other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Interest in or knowledge of jewelry a plus; willingness to learn required. Customer service experience preferred. Friendly, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills. Professional appearance required. Physical Requirements Light to moderate lifting is required.

Repetitive motion is also required. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Work Schedule Up to 28 hours per week; requires team member to be at work as early as 7:00 A.M. and stay as late as 8:30 P.M. Flexibility in scheduling is required. Saturdays are required.
