MISSOURI STAR QUILT CO. Retreat Coordinator REPORTS TO: Retreats Manager CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time LOCATION: On-Site

  • Hamilton, MO JOB SUMMARY The Retreat Coordinator supports the planning and operation of Missouri Star Quilt Co. retreats and events while providing an exceptional guest experience. Strong sewing and quilting experience is required for this position. The Retreat Coordinator will serve as a sewing instructor during company-sponsored retreats, providing hands-on instruction, demonstrations, and guidance to participants. This position will teach sewing and quilting techniques, develop retreat projects, create step-outs and samples, and assist guests with questions and individual projects. The position also supports event planning, guest registration and check-in, catering coordination, event communications, supplies, and overall Retreat Center operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Teach and demonstrate sewing and quilting techniques during company-sponsored retreats and classes. Provide clear, engaging, hands-on instruction to participants with varying skill levels. Develop quarterly retreat projects, samples, and step-outs for instructional classes. Assist with retreat and event planning, setup, meals, cleanup, and coordination with vendors and caterers.

Post and manage retreats and events through Eventbrite at least 90 days in advance. Welcome and check in guests, provide directions, answer questions, and resolve guest concerns. Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming sewing and common areas. Regularly check sewing machines and report equipment issues. Plan project supplies and swag bag contents and coordinate needs with the Retreats Manager.

Send post-event surveys through SurveyMonkey and share results with the Retreats Manager. Perform other duties necessary to support successful retreat operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated sewing and quilting experience is required. Ability to confidently teach and demonstrate sewing and quilting techniques to groups is required. Previous instructional, workshop, or classroom experience is strongly preferred. Previous customer service or hospitality experience required. Comfortable speaking and presenting to groups.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft/Google products, email, and web-based systems. Eventbrite or similar event-registration experience preferred. Knowledge of Missouri Star Quilt Co. operations and the quilting industry preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for company events.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Approximately 60% sedentary and 40% walking/standing. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with sewing and computer use. Ability to occasionally navigate stairs and assist with event setup and breakdown.
