Tool & Die Maker - 1st Shift A.J. Rose Manufacturing Company | Cleveland, OH A.J. Rose Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our 1st shift team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and improving progressive and transfer stamping dies used in high-volume metal stamping operations.

The ideal candidate is a skilled problem solver who takes pride in precision workmanship, supports production teams, and helps drive continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain progressive and transfer stamping dies. Diagnose tooling issues and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient production. Perform bench work, precision fitting, grinding, machining, and assembly of tooling components. Conduct preventative maintenance on dies, fixtures, and related tooling.

Support production by responding quickly to tooling-related downtime and quality concerns. Read and interpret blueprints, tool designs, engineering drawings, and specifications. Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams on tooling improvements and new die launches. Evaluate die performance and recommend modifications to improve productivity, quality, and tool life.

Assist with tryouts and startup of new or modified tooling. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records. Follow all safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum 3 years of Tool & Die experience in a metal stamping environment. Strong experience with progressive and transfer dies. Ability to operate manual toolroom equipment, including grinders, mills, lathes, and related machinery. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience working with close tolerances and precision measuring instruments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
